We’re excited to celebrate in a place we love—and where Lauren’s dad and stepmom now live. Over the years, we’ve spent a lot of time in Las Catalinas, and it’s become incredibly special to us. With its tropical beauty, laid-back Pura Vida spirit, and a sense of calm you can truly feel, it’s the perfect setting for the celebration we envisioned.
This will be an intimate weekend with our immediate families and closest friends. We wanted it to feel like the best parts of a wedding blended with a vacation.

At the end of January, Costa Rica is in its dry season, so you can expect beautiful, sunny days with very little rain. Temperatures typically range between 75°F and 90°F (24°C to 32°C). It can feel warm during the day but cooler in the evenings, and there’s typically a breeze at night.

THURS: Elevated Casual: Think relaxed yet refined. Linen sets, sundresses, breezy jumpsuits, or tailored shorts with button-downs. Stylish but easygoing — you're in Costa Rica after all!
FRI: Beach Attire: Swimsuits, coverups, and casual beachwear are perfect for lounging by the ocean or pool. If you'd like to explore the gym or play tennis or pickleball, bring athletic clothes and sneakers. Don’t forget a beach bag, hat, and sunglasses.
FRI NIGHT: Resort Chic: Dress it up with flowy dresses, polished jumpsuits, or lightweight slacks and a linen shirt. Think elevated coastal style with a refined edge. Note: Flip-flops are not permitted at the venue.
SAT (Wedding): Tropical Cocktail: Festive and elevated with a touch of the tropics — colorful dresses, stylish sets, and breezy suits. Dress for warm weather, but be prepared for a breezy evening.

Yes! There are grocery and convenience stores located within the town for anything you might need, including food and medicine. You’ll be able to pick up any essentials during your stay.
-
Yes! The tap water in Las Catalinas is safe to drink. Costa Rica generally has high water quality standards, and Las Catalinas is no exception. Feel free to refill your bottle straight from the tap, but bottled water is also readily available if you prefer.

The local currency is the Costa Rican Colón (CRC), but US dollars are widely accepted everywhere, especially where we're staying. You don’t need to exchange money or take out colóns, as most places will happily accept US dollars. Helpful Tips: Bring a set amount of US dollars in smaller denominations ($1s, $5s, $10s) for transportation and tips. Credit cards are accepted at hotels, restaurants, and shops, so cash will mainly be for convenience.

Outside of our immediate family, we’re keeping this a child-free weekend. Thanks for understanding!

We’re keeping things intimate and, unless we’ve chatted with you directly about bringing a guest, we’re not able to accommodate additional plus ones. Thank you so much for understanding—we truly can’t wait to celebrate with you!

If you’re thinking of turning this into a longer adventure, there’s so much to explore beyond Las Catalinas. The town itself is a car-free beachside haven, perfect for hiking, mountain biking, paddleboarding, or just relaxing by the ocean. For those wanting more, the surrounding Guanacaste region is full of natural wonders — think volcanic hot springs, waterfalls, and national parks. Rincón de la Vieja Volcano is a popular day trip with hiking trails, mud baths, and wildlife. You can also explore nearby beach towns like Tamarindo (great for surfing and nightlife) or Playa Flamingo (for calm beaches and sailing).
Looking to explore further? Head south to Nosara, known for its upscale wellness retreats, yoga, and laid-back surf scene, or visit Santa Teresa, a bohemian gem with boutique hotels, incredible sunsets, and some of the best waves in the country. Both are just a short domestic flight from Liberia Airport. Whether you stay nearby or venture further, Costa Rica’s magic is waiting to be explored.

Your presence means the world to us! We kindly ask for no gifts — we’re just thankful to celebrate together.
